But time to time people ask about who I am and how I feel about a lot of things that they have to deal with in their own lives. The Signs of the Time–Are you all ready for the big thaw? Had enough of ice and snow to last you a lifetime? With springtime there will be a lot of unseen surprises that the Universe has in store for all of us.
On March 20 there will be a Solar Eclipse New Moon at 29 degrees of Pisces. The fascinating thing about this is that the Sun does not move into Aries until 6:45 PM EDT. Odd but only this kind of phenomenon will happen this year. The souls most affected by the Solar Eclipse will be those born between March 15 and March 31. Eclipses give you exactly what you deserve by the steps you take to reap the benefits. Since the eclipse is at the last degree of Pisces, the winners of the bounties will be those who follow the hope of Robert Browning who asked, “Should a man’s reach exceed his grasp or what’s a heaven for?”
There will be a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon on April 4 at 14 degrees of Libra, which is also Passover. (Note Passover is an observant to commemorate the emancipation of Jews from the tyranny of the Egyptians. Seven Plagues were a foreshadowing of God’s wrath against maltreatment of the Jews, now known as God’s chosen people. Each first born of the Jewish families were passed over from death from the plagues). Lunar Eclipses indicate an ending of matters that have also been stressful, especially to Libras and Aries.
The good news–if you view rapid movement of energies throughout the world–is that there are no retrogrades in this Solar Cycle until April 17. Put on your track shoes and get ready to meet whatever challenges that come your way. Globally there will be an escalation of skirmishes and power struggles in the Mid-East. Keep your eyes on Russia. This will cause much unrest in this Aries Sun Cycle.
Uranus will square Pluto for the entire month of April. Uranus represents sudden upheavals, earthquakes–it’s like a rug being pulled out beneath your feet–and Pluto is a symbol of contamination, destruction, desire, obsessions, elimination and decay. Every day we live with devolution of the old and confronted with what needs to be changed in our world. Change you as the world around you is forced to change.
Fire Signs
ARIES (March 20 – April 19)–The overview for you Rams this Solar cycle is that you will be forced to shed your tendency to be selfish and self-centered. When you show your abilities to be a great leader the world applauds. Strut and preen and we can’t wait for you to disappear. With Uranus and Pluto clashing through April you may be challenged with the spiritual experience in all your affairs. The Lunar Eclipse on April 4 will be a Waterloo moment for you. The Sun is exalted in Aries. But zenith moments come for Aries when he or she develops the humility to embrace the concept that life is about all of us not just some of us.
LEO (July 22 – August 22)–This is your second best Solar Cycle since the Sun is exalted in Aries. Earth is not the proverbial perfect Eden so into all signs a little discombobulation (look it up!), especially when Venus (March 17 – April 11) and Mars (April 1 throughout April 14) are in Taurus–which square Leo. The reason we picked those planets and dates is that you Leos are known to be big gamblers. Not a good time for the game of chance. What you might do is give to feed the poor and ask someone in need, “What can I do for you?” See, there are remedies for stress times wherever you live.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–Saturn in your Sun Sign may be getting a bit more daunting than you expected. It’s probably reminding you to get a better roadmap before you hit the road. Or read the fine print before you sign on the dotted line. Sagittarius rules the 9th House in the Zodiac, which is God’s house. Reconsider your world view and consult someone who is wise with his feet on the ground when you do an inventory to see what to keep and what has to go. And an advanced warning that your ruling planet Jupiter is about to go into Virgo–prim, proper and the analyst of the Zodiac. Get ready, school’s in session.
Earth Signs
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)–Your ruler, Venus will be in Taurus from March 20 until April 12. Mars will be in Taurus for the month of April. Good news and trouble in River City. Venus will make you feel like you were made to live in the Taj Mahal–the ones you love will blow you kisses. You’ll be dined until you’re forced to diet. But with Mars in the sign of you soft and tender Bulls you might feel bombastic, take offense at every slight and pout until your significant other tells you to straighten up or sleep on the sofa. The best for both these aspects is moderation and don’t forget to pray and meditate twice a day. Good luck!
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–This month you may add 2 and 2 and not get the right answer even with the new math. Mercury your ruler is in your opposite sign, Pisces, and Aries, which messes with your mind. When you tend to your own business you hum, “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” and wait for the Robert E. Lee to see if opportunity steps off the riverboat with a surprise for you. And whatever you do at your neediest hour stay off Match.Com. You never know when some lunatic posts Channing Tatum’s picture to get you to meet him in the dark part of the forest. Be patient; there’s always next month, Taurus, which is your perfect match.
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–If there is any sign of the Zodiac who rarely bellyaches when the planets seem to be opposing or squaring him or her it is the Sign of the Goat. Known as the steadiest and most dependable sign of them all, Capricorn goes about his business come rain or come shine. This is a Solar Cycle when Capricorn needs to tend to his own business and hope that everyone else does the same. The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 14 degrees of Libra is going to try to give the Goat fits. ‘So what’s new?’ queries Capricorn. Is this another lesson that the Ego-centric world is a place for amends and deep cellular change? I’m just asking.
Air Signs
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–With your ruler, Mercury in Aries until April 15 (have you paid your taxes? Sent in a little extra to ward off an audit?), you are in the right part of the forest and time of the year to strike gold. Aries is the daredevil and risk-taker. You should find success in what you seek. Jupiter is still in Leo–very favorable to Geminis. The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon is trining you–the wait is over. Uranus in Aries forms a fortuitous sextile to you. And with Saturn in Sagittarius opposing you represents the outcome of all your efforts. Don’t forget to thank the Divine for all your blessings–and learning curves.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–Always remind yourself that your birthright Godfather is Solomon because your cosmic DNA describes you as fair-minded, capable of wisdom beyond Mensa and arbiter of all disputes. Having reminded you of who you are without end, the Lunar Eclipse Full Moon may throw you a curve ball that you cannot hit. On April 4 you may feel that the world is not your friend and that no one believes you are who the gods say you are. You may be at the end of the line in a marriage, with a business partner. Whichever it is, make sure you are fair to yourself. As the Good Book says ‘it rains on the just and the unjust,” or as we say in 12-step parlance, “life on life’s terms.”
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–Every time I write the monthly astrology for Aquarius I am reminded that no sign is connected on the interplanetary telecommunication to the Upper all-seeing all-knowing world like you Water Bearers. You’ll have a lot of help this month while your ruling planet Uranus is poised to give you all the inspiration you need. Mars in Aries and Saturn in Sagittarius send you all the solid vibrations you need to help you transcend the toxicity of this Lower World. Your mission in return to earth was to support brothers and sisters who need what you have: hope and the promise of a better world which we all must be a part of.
Water Signs
CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–Astro-Lesson #5,280 just for you Cancers. The moon goes into a different sign every two and a half days. This means that at least 10 days a month you will feel like nobody cares and nobody listens to you. What to do? Learn what others are trying to teach you. An old warlock told me once that “your enemy teaches you more than your friend.” Your compatible lunar days this Solar Cycle: March 22- 24; March 27-29; April 1 – 2; April 6 – 7; April 15 – 16; April 19 – 20. Take note, s’il vous plait. The other days shut your yapper and do a lot of yoga, meditation and prayer.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–You are one sign that never has to control lighting before you enter a room like Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard or Orson Welles in Citizen Kane. Having survived Saturn and with your ruler Pluto still making a hubaduba arc from Capricorn life is about to get better than ever. Your problem has been low-self esteem and always letting others out shine you. But now that you are ready for anything life throws at you when the girls and boys clamoring around you start to take your spotlight, nudge them and say, “Step aside mes amis, but it’s my turn and my time.”
PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–Your ruler Neptune has made its return into Pisces. (A little bit of trivia: it takes Neptune 165 years to make its journey through the Zodiac. Wow! Being a Pisces, I don’t know whether to scream or cry!) The caution for all us Fishes is to be guided by the transcendent energies that Neptune brings into our private world, but not to forget that we are all kids of karma and our mission is to make changes in our behavior. We are great musicians, poets and writers–we know how to lift the human spirit. My reminder to all fellow Neptunians is not to forget to save more than we spend, don’t be crybabies and always know that God lives within us. Om. Tat. Sat. Om.

Alcoholism is a Family Disease
The Dysfunction of the Family Tree: When I work with an alcoholic or drug addict it is obvious to me that everyone hanging from the Family Tree played his or her part in the creation of the lone wolf black sheep. The whole toxic environment which spawned the addict is overlaid with blame and shame. Your Ego Listens When Reason Speaks…And Here’s What Happens
As the myth goes, God created man out of thin air and then Eve popped out of his rib. And just when they were getting to know one another, Eve asked Adam to bite her apple. Then along came the snake. The apple and the snake are a carnival act–they are Frick and Frack in collusion. Make what you will of the yarn, but my Sherlock Holmes intuition tells me to find the truth of the matter in close examination of the apple and the creepy crawler. What Dr. Watson and I came up with was this. The apple of course is temptation. Bite it and you pay a huge price–entrapment. The snake is a doppelganger that represents the Ego, that nefarious shadow- self who always wants us to stay ensnared and beholden to his pleasure chest: food, booze, more, self, manipulation and control. Well, I could go on forever. I could stay with the vivisection of the birth and eons of treachery of the ego from the Garden of Eve to the present. But I won’t. What I will do is to tell you that each of us has an Ego, and although venerated by some like Freud, I feel it has to be dealt with. And the dealing is where I am taking you.
