The Signs of the Time–We at the Sedona Intensive Newsletter wish a Happy Holiday to one and all. Most of us do not know that Christmas and the Holidays occur in the Capricorn cycle of the Astrological Calendar. Our counsel has always been let this be a Season to ask those in need, “What can I do for you?” It has been my feeling for ages that the Holidays have become too commercial. Black Friday I refer to as Crazy Day because the notion that hundreds of thousands of people storming malls and huge retailers is beyond the pale for me.
There will be a New Moon on December 21 at 00 degrees of Capricorn. This aspect allows a new beginning for Goats specifically and other Earth Signs, Taurus and Virgo as well. Water Signs, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will meet with good fortune as well.
There will be a Full Moon at 14 degrees of Cancer on January 4, 2015. Full Moons oftentimes makes those of the sign in which the Moon is Full feel out of sorts. Books have been written about an increase in violent crimes and general lunacy during a Full Moon. Cancers will feel the affect most severely, as well as Capricorn and Libra and Aries. The caution under the Full Moon is always to be a bit more diligent and aware of where you are.
Jupiter, the planet known most familiarly as the planet that expands and blesses, went retrograde on December 9 at 22 degrees of Leo. The retrograde makes Leo feel as if his lucky star has gone away and he must tread lightly, especially in matters of finance, especially how he or she spends money.
Uranus goes direct on December 23 at 12 degrees of Aries, which means that a lot of unexpected events will happen for Aries. But the Outer Planets, of which Uranus is, affect all of us up close and personal. We know that relations with police and citizens, especially minorities, erupted in the last few months–but in truth–these kind of unconscionable atrocities have been with us for a long time. My prediction is that the tide will turn and those who have violated someone’s civil rights will be held accountable in the courts of law.
Fire Signs
ARIES (March 20 – April 19)–You Rams have probably already started dancing the hucklebuck since Uranus in Aries went direct earlier in the month. All you need is a firecracker to wake you up. Rose colored glasses were invented by an Aries, and impulse is your middle name. What I would do this month if I were you is to go back into the laboratory and discover an antidote for rash behavior and running before you get the roadmap. You fair a lot better after January 19 next year. Look at it this way: Great ideas need longer to reach fruition.
LEO (July 22 – August 22)–This Solar Cycle is not exactly your part of the forest to gambol in, or the time of the year for you to throw caution to the wind. When Jupiter skidded to a halt and went retrograde on December 9 the gravy train for you lions and lionesses left the station. But never forget that Jupiter can be like a kid inhaling laughing gas or a half-wit smoking dope–Jupiter often promises more than it can deliver. Jupiter was always meant to be a cosmic strain of encouragement. But then the materialists and “it’s all about me” group turned Jupiter into its mascot. This is your time of year to go on a diet or help the less fortunate. Happy Holidays!
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–“One man’s meat is another man’s poison,” goes the beat-to-death old saw. From my 50 years experience as a Jungian therapist, nothing in the land of astrology scares, or, better yet, terrifies a soul on earth quite like Saturn coming to live in your sign. Well, you Archers, this is my way of letting you know that when you wake up on Christmas day Saturn will be your overlord of life’s lessons of change and letting go of what is no longer working in your life for the next two and a half years. Shorthand advises that since we all live in the land of Maya and Greed, every being in the Lower World will have two chances to see how much he’s grown spiritually or regressed with the passage of Saturn through his sign. German Philosopher Friedrich once said, “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.” Happy Holidays!
Earth Signs
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)–With your ruling planet Venus in the compatible sign of Capricorn until January 3, 2015, you should feel like your feet and emotions are touching solid ground. After January 3, Venus moves into a square position in Aquarius, which is a caution flag. Most of the planets in signs are not in synch with you except Pluto in Capricorn. My hunch and star gazing tell me that it is time for you to think less about your money bag and when the next meal is and more about what condition is your soul-self in.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–Did you ever have the notion to write a book or a play? Too demanding or too compelling to consider? Or how about this proposition: have you been vacillating about making that amends to someone you have hurt or dissed? Shakespeare the Great Metaphysician advised us to be careful who we offend or those to whom our actions need an amends. To dig deeper into the never-ending literary troves of the Bard of Avon, he hinted in a circumloquotious manner that we need to consider “restraint of tongue and pen.” Which leads me to the Golden Rule for Virgos this month: Since your ruler is in Capricorn for a few weeks in the beginning of the Capricorn Solar Cycle, “Zip it. Sit on your hands and tend to your own business.”
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–You Goats will typify the letting go of the old and embracing the new opportunities and challenges for the New Year. This is always your time of year every year. You operate in the cold rather than the hot rays of the summer sun. Your motto is Caution and your axiom, “Everything in due time.” You will need to show the quality of loving kindness under the Full Moon in Cancer on January 4, 2015. As a matter of fact, here is an astrology lesson for you and all signs: You must balance your cool reserve with the warmth of Cancer, your balance and integration sign. All signs resolve the hardships of their sign by being open to what they can learn from their opposition.
Air Signs
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–The Full Moon on December 6 was the end of all the turmoil and torture you’ve been going through for a few months. As far as your weather cast is concerned it’s azure blue and not a cloud in the sky. I got a special delivery for you Twin Souls that said it is time to make a list and check it twice for all the good you have in your life. Your gratitude should include your spouse and children and all the hard times and rougher waters. None of us gets to where we need to go without challenges as well as opportunities. You are going to have the happiest Holiday ever. And don’t forget to thank God from whom all blessings flow.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–After January 7 you can begin to feel as if you are not only as wise as an Owl and as fair as Solomon but your ideas are going to be ahead of their time. You should have settled personal and/or professional disputes and learned how to answer a question in less than a slurring, stuttering two minutes, (Did I ever tell you that Libras are the slowest to make up their minds or to take affirmative action on anything?) The clock is ticking and it is later than you think. Whatever you are going to do about anything super important, pick up pace and make a decision. If you still are worshipping at the throne of conspicuous consumption, change your feeding habits and consider that it’s all about all of us not just you and your bottom line.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–You have begun to pick up pace since your ruling planet, Uranus, has gone direct in motion in Aries. Aries and Aquarius are soul brothers/sisters by cosmic nature but Uranus in Aries can also make you feel jittery and hurried in how you make decisions. My caution for you this solar cycle is to run ideas by someone you trust before you run Pell-mell into a buzz saw, or worse. Step aside and do some journaling, it just might be the start of a book deal or, at least, look both ways before you spring into action.
Water Signs
CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–With Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn for the first days of the Solar Cycle of the Goat you might want to be seen and not heard so much. Don’t hide or refuse to see family and friends. My personal panacea for such aspects in my own chart is to meditate daily and to keep an active written record of what’s going on in my outer life. But I also need to record what messages I am getting on the inner planes. There is no question that you must be the most adaptable sign of the Zodiac as the Moon, your ruling planet, is in a different sign every two and a half days. Remember the Wizard of Odd when he said, “And this, too, shall pass?”
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–Your Christmas Eve gift is straight from the textbook of “saved by the planetary shifts” because Saturn will move into Sagittarius the day before Christmas. A minor caution: Saturn will slither back into Scorpio on June 15 and leave for the next thirty years on September 19. Never fear. The purpose of Saturn is to see what you have learned to make your life and life’s purpose stronger and more solid than they’ve ever been. Scorpio, after dumping all the compulsions, obsessions, and manipulative ways of the world, becomes the Master Healer and the clear clairvoyant of the Zodiac. “So, Madam or Mister Scorpio, who are you?”
PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–Most people forget Pisces is a Winter Sign, albeit, at the end of the long dreary sleet and rain and blizzards. Your fortune cookie this month asks for you to think of others but make sure you’ve paid your rent or mortgage. Sometimes when you hear Kumbaya you want to throw all you’ve got in the offering plate. Under the Full Moon on January 4 at 14 degrees of Cancer you will have a vision of what to spend more time on and what to let go of. Something incredible and edifying will happen for you under the Full Moon. But also stay out of dangerous neighborhoods like the one between your ears.
