Albert's View

As hard as it may be to wrap your mind around it, what is happening in a war-torn, mean and vicious world gone mad is in fact a mainline, “kicking and screaming” awakening to a new Consciousness—a new reality—and the ending of a way of life that is gone with the wind. For those of us who keep our ear to the ground like the Hopi Indian to listen to God’s divine messages, the world in chaos is an opportunity to embrace a realization of who we really are. To my way of thinking the world has needed to make a shift for a long time. Buddha’s meaning of enlightenment? “Wake up.” The rude awakening which can soften into an incredible sense of joy and love is to rediscover that God part within you that reminds you to “change you to change the world.” Change you and the world will take care of herself.

Are you at war with loved ones in your own home? Is a battle royal being waged where you work?

When a crisis arises I learned, after I recovered from alcoholism, a hopeless state of mind and body, to take action. When I harm someone, I make amends. If I want peace I make peace. If you want peace in the world, take action in your own home and in your neighborhood. End all wars that are raging with your spouse or children and friends and enemies. Take aphorisms off your bumpers and stick them in your heart. For one, I suggest that you practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia defines a random act of kindness as a selfless act performed by kind people to either help or cheer up a random stranger for no other reason than to make someone happier.

For over 1,800 years Jews have honored their parents by saying the Kaddish prayer. Kaddish is a Mitzvah, a true act of kindness, and one of the strongest cornerstones of Jewish life. It has the power to lift a soul from one spiritual world to the next, ever higher, every year. Many people wish to say Kaddish for their loved ones, but find it difficult or even impossible. We are one people with one soul. Hence, Torah Law teaches that when needed, one Jew can say Kaddish on behalf of any other. I suggest that we do as the Jews do. I suggest that each of us say Kaddish and that we pray for peace on earth, goodwill to men of all races, creeds, color and become tolerant of their God and how they worship Him as well.

The Signs of the Times

The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 15 degrees of Pisces on September 7 and the Solar Eclipse New Moon at 29 degrees of Virgo on September 22 are the most intense celestial signals we have had since the last two eclipses on March 14th and March 29th.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes in front of the Sun, partially or completely blocking its light. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth passes directly in front of the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon’s surface. Eclipses are always powerful benchmarks of change, and most of the time they disrupt and displace people from their familiar and ordinary flow of life. Did you ever read the biblical scripture “it rains on the just and the unjust”? This refers to the fact that all of us are affected when planets move, especially the Sun and Moon.

However, mutable signs, Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius will be affected the most. That old adage, “nothing is constant but change” should be the axiom of these signs every day as mutable signs are constantly being asked to adjust or else. “Or else” means to be left behind when everyone else is on the move.

The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon is telling us that we all need to get out of fantasy land, where Pisces particularly likes to live, and face the reality of the world we all created. As we say in recovery circles, “If you want potatoes, pick up the hoe.” The free ride is over. After the dust settles, all of us must build something new in the place of what has been taken away.

The Solar Eclipse New Moon portends that we are at critical mass. It is up to us to pull up by the tap roots the parts of our lives that are not working. In the mundane world, it is time to save instead of spend—to share rather than to keep for one’s self.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

Virgo“If I’da knowed you was coming I’da baked a cake.” Excuse the Southern parlance but if anybody needs a sugar rush and a celebration this month it is you Mercury-ruled Virgos. It seems that just when the room is fit for company, the plush sofa gets repossessed or there is a leak from the ceiling that ruins your finest chintz. For every dark cloud there is that proverbial silver living, and yours is that you always have a secret stash to redo any disaster. Pick your times carefully, like the 28 – 30 of August, 2 & 3 and the 10 & 11 of September to start over or sign documents and your world should right itself. Praise God that there’s not Mercury retrograde until October 29th.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

VirgoThis month is not the time to be indecisive and wishy-washy—put your foot down and stand your ground. Someone new is about to knock on your door or ring your chimes. The Lunar and Solar eclipses are making room for…no, not daddy…but a true partner. If you’ve learned your lessons: don’t pay off his debts, or don’t let her redecorate after the first date, and bury the idea that you need someone to make you better, you may have mastered the law of attraction: you’re getting who you deserve. And if you think you’re with the one you love, give him or her a quiz from 1 Corinthians 13 not from O Magazine. A true relationship matches the blueprint that you carry inside you.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

VirgoJupiter is not going to stay in your sign forever (it goes into Sagittarius November 24), so make your move ASAP. If you want that promotion, ask for it. Time for a raise, prove it. If you are in a relationship that died a long time ago, get out now. And if you want to see your money grow, tithe 15% not 10. I don’t like to look ahead with any of us, but when your ruler, Pluto goes into Capricorn in 2008, your make-up is going to look better and those broken pieces are going to turn into priceless keepsakes. This is a good time of the year to remind yourself that you are a healer in disguise. You’re overdue to perform miracles—reach out and touch the sick. You have miracles in your hands.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)

VirgoWhen I die and come back, I better be a Sagittarian. Nobody has more fun and nobody can get away with the shenanigans of you archers. Until now. You wanderlust boys and girls had better mind your dollars and sense because those eclipses are going to come to your door. Balance your checkbooks—check your math twice. If you think that God is calling you to climb the Himalayas, or ford a stream in Switzerland, take a nap and go places in your dreams. Those itchy feet are going to have to make do with a walk in the park. Analyze your private and professional life to see what needs to go and what’s a keeper. Jupiter is coming your way soon and then you can get out your passport.

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)

Virgo

You goats are getting so much unusual harmony from the stars this month. Can I make a suggestion? Relax. Sit down and let the gardener do his job without your hoe in the way.

It wouldn’t break the bank to take a vacation when the kids go back to school. Plan a party—splurge. I’ll let you in on a little secret: the havoc that eclipses are causing the mutable signs, are benefiting you in sextile and trine—good stuff in astrological lingo. Whoever said “you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear” did not know the ingenuity of Caps. Capricorns start your engines; you’re in for a smooth ride.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)

VirgoAll I can say for you water bearers—keepers of ancient codes and secrets—is it’s almost time for your entrance on the stage of life. Wars and rumors of wars are mere harbingers of the old new consciousness that you air heads, oops, I mean air signs have known about for years—it’s in your astrological DNA. While you are waiting for the Robert E. Lee to paddle you to higher ground, I suggest you go back to keeping a journal—those higher mind transmissions won’t last forever. It doesn’t count if you don’t write it down. Get back to meditating on a regular basis. You want to know who’s talking to hear himself talk and when it is the Divine you’re listening to.

PISCES (February 18 – March 20)

VirgoEclipses are never comfortable, easy or like eating cotton candy, but look at the up side: your dream state can now become a reality if you lay a firm foundation for all your bright ideas. Start with an inventory under those earthquake sun and moon breakthrough aspects. Check your passive aggressive tendencies and make sure you are upfront and honest about who you are and what you need. Before your emotions spill all over the dinner table, check in with your self and see where the irrational and twisted sick feelings are coming from. They may be a hangover from mommy’s anger or daddy’s heavy handed parenting. I promise you this: clean up the mess and the next two years are *****.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)

VirgoI know you rams hate to take directions but this month you need a shepherd who knows how to keep you out of harm’s way. So slow down to school zone 15 miles an hour so you can follow the roadmap. Rule one: read the fine print; your anxiety level may have you signing on the dotted line before you read the paperwork. Rule 2: Ask the Universe, ‘May I?’ before you take matters into your own hands; even you need a Power greater than yourself. And Rule 3: If you are meant to buy the house, close the deal, make a marriage or take a trip, it will all be there when the planets are treating you better. Keep your gear in park until the end of September.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 20)

Virgo

You, too, are getting the most favorable side benefits from the Lunar and Solar eclipses.

For you it means that you will probably have a good crop to reap very soon. For once, you are not rubbing aloe on your wounds because the only marking on your body is your suntan. Although the natural birth chart applies to us all—there has been a slowing trend in the economy—you will be affected less than others. The best news I can broadcast for you bulls is that you might want to start over on your own—leave the safety net of your employer and go to work for yourself. Eclipses are signals for you to pack up and relocate to monitor your own work habits and make your own financial security.

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

VirgoIt’s not polite to stare at someone else’s misfortune—the Pisces and Virgos on your block woke up to a lot of carefully-laid plans in rubble. Be a good neighbor and help them clean up. The day will come when you’ll need help. Your forecast this month is mellow and bright. Call the class to order and get the chattering classes in your head to speak one at a time so you can walk a straight line. You will begin to see progress with good solid investments and turn the corner with money matters in general. I know it’s your tendency to please everybody—speak for yourself. Straddle the fence so you can see both sides. The time has come to be you and let the rest of the world go by.

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

VirgoIf you’ll come to terms with your yo-yo emotions and your need to control, your battle this month will be half won. With “tend to your business and I’ll tend to mine” stenciled on your forehead you’ll probably join a yoga class that ends with deep meditation rather than monitor everybody else’s comings and goings. Nothing could be finer than the excellent cosmic energetic down drift you’ll be getting from the Lunar and Solar eclipses—you’ll watch and commiserate from a distance with what your next-door signs, Virgo and Pisces, are going through. Bake a cake or send a touchy feely card—stay away and let them work through their own karma without interference from momma or daddy.

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

VirgoSaturn is demanding that you cut down on your carbohydrate intake, stay out of the couch potato club and get back into the gym. If you are willing to follow a regimen of watch what you eat, careful what you spend and look before you leap, by Christmas you’ll have a surprise or two rather than ashes and switches which you may have deserved. By early September you should review your portfolio—if your current money man ain’t getting the job done, change services. Better yet, learn how to manage your money yourself. A little bird told me that Leos are going to be so fit in all areas of their life if they learn from the demands of cold, calculating Saturn—starting the summer of 2007. Smile.

As Scott Sees It

I oftentimes hear the expression, “It is better to give than to receive,” and having a curious Gemini mind, I have recently questioned the validity of this statement.  Is it really better to give than to receive?

What do you do when someone pays you a compliment?  Do you automatically respond with a compliment of your own?  Perhaps you’ll say the exact same statement the individual just attempted to give you.  “Joe, what a good man you are,” says your friend. “Sam, you are a good man, too,” you echo. Did you really receive what that person just tried to say to you?  Most likely you did not.  I am guilty of the same thing. Too often we deflect and detract from what the person is saying to us by not listening and fully accepting another’s good will wholeheartedly.  In these instances both the giver and we as the receiver are shortchanged.

The next time someone greets you with an accolade resist the temptation to ignore or diminish it.  Simply say, “Thank you”.  Allow your receiving muscle to be exercised in that moment, as uncomfortable though it might be. You may squirm a bit, but like anything else, being able to receive good tidings from someone else gets easier with practice.  Then, let me know if you feel as I do, that it is best to give and receive equally, because when we have received, we have more to give.

Ask Us

This month we selected Shelby’s request for some insights into her domestic situation. There will be some definite changes in your living arrangement eventually, but it won’t be until late spring or summer 2007. The Solar and Lunar eclipses are going to cause you to rethink a lot of situations in your life, most of all, what you need to do to attract a loving man into your life. Uranus in Pisces is going to change how you think, because as a Gemini, you are so attached to figuring out things rather than letting them be revealed. You won’t be living with your daughter and grandchildren this time next year. Go with the erratic pace with those eclipses in September.
