As Albert Sees It

As we move into the New Year let us pause to thank God for what we have and thank Him for what we don’t have. An attitude of gratitude insinuates that we are right where we’re supposed to be—meeting the challenges that come our way; changing us to change the world we touch. Few of us would choose to change ourselves without life’s lessons to get us there.

A hoard of people have been asking me about End Times, biblical prophecies about apocalypse and the true meaning of the end of the Mayan Calendar. What events—from the war in Iraq, to tensions in Iran and North Korea and all of the bloodshed in the name of God or Mohammad—are indicating is that we can change the future from war to peace, from hatred to love—but to do so we must raise the Consciousness of the world by lifting our own personal awareness level. Check in with yourself to see what is going on where you live—at home, at work and in your social community. I am a big proponent of the power of thought impressions as well as the might and majesty of prayer. Create your own quantum physics of love and compassion for all those around you and such an attitude can help shift the world and her people. Remember the effect that the movement of a butterfly’s wings has on people and places thousands of miles away. The ripple effect can work powerfully and well for all of us on the planet.

If I can affect your New Year’s Resolution just a tad I would encourage you to journal daily. Get your thoughts on paper so they can’t attack others or misrepresent yourself. With the negativity that permeates our environment even the most dedicated among us to love and compassion can find herself or himself involved in emotional skirmishes that don’t matter to the degree that we give these emotional outbreaks power. Write your anger, rage, resentments, fears and phobias on paper. Get them out of your head to clear your antenna room to hear God speak to you when you need Him most.

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of God’s glory and grace.
Gift Giving - Light Foundation Scholarship

The Light Foundation Scholarship Fund, a not-for-profit organization created by several Sedona Intensive graduates, recently received its official 501(c)(3) status. These appreciative graduates, who felt that their lives had been changed forever, wanted to give back by helping those with limited financial resources to uncover their authentic selves through this life-altering experience. We compliment these individuals for their selfless acts of generosity.

No candidate is ever given a full scholarship-each recipient must make a partial financial investment themselves. As we come to the end of the tax year, please give generously to help those who need to change their lives have the chance to do so. Further information regarding scholarship applications and making tax-deductible contributions is available at www.lightfoundationscholarship.org.

The Signs of the Times

The Sun goes into Aquarius on the 20th after a Full Moon at 28 degrees of Capricorn on the 18th. The Full Moon is telling you that it is time to stop watching too much television and reading too many magazines and newspapers to tell you what is happening in the world and instead listen to the still small voice of intuition to see what’s up next for you in 2007. Mercury, Venus and Neptune will be in Aquarius along with the Sun for the late-January mid-February cycle which means that it is time to find how connected you are to others rather than look at differences—bond and blend with your co-workers and family. There will be open doors and windows of opportunities to come up with a better mouse trap to make business plans soar. Don’t forget to give to those who need what you’ve got. Aquarians are the champions of the underdog and know how to receive the Light to share.

Mercury goes retrograde at 10 degrees of Pisces on February 15th, but it has diminishing returns from the 10th of February. When Mercury is in retrograde we can expect indecision and changes in plans. The retrograde periods for Mercury require much caution and orderly thinking. It is a good time for research and planning, examination of resources, and completion of projects already begun.

Avoid beginning new projects at this time. Projects begun during a Mercury retrograde period often develop differently than expected. The only way to avoid disappointment is to expect disruptions. Virgos and Geminis, ruled by Mercury, are more strongly affected by this transit.

While Mercury is in retrograde, it is important to give greater attention to accuracy—dot your i’s and cross your t’s—detail and daily routine. Mercury goes direct on or about March 8th. Caution flags are up on February 15th!

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)

Virgo

“Clang, clang, clang went the trolley, ding, ding, ding went the bell…”—the universe is singing your song and rising the stakes in the game of life for you this astrological cycle. Ideas will come to you in droves and inspiration will lift your spirits to the heights of heaven. Tell everybody around you to listen up: “it is my time to speak and it is time for you to listen.” Make the most of the month. You will not be denied.

PISCES (February 18 – March 20)

Virgo

Holy smokes—thank God those planets in Sagittarius have come and gone. Did you feel wobble at the Holidays and get ashes and switches instead of what you wanted? Take a deep breath, exhale and ask the Divine for what you think you can do to benefit yourself and others. There is no sign better born to help others than you Fish. Make sure your petition to God includes benefit for others. This will be a soothing and healthy month for you and your shenanigans.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20)

Virgo

That cloud of dust and the noise out front is not another tornado or gun smoke—it’s the Aries brothers and sisters heading for the starting line. Although you have been feeling it’s been too cold to go out much less get anything done, after February 1st let us see what you’ve got. The world just may be waiting for your IPO or game plan that is novel and new. Make sure all financial deals are tied in an ethical package when the gun sounds to start your run.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 20)

Virgo

Aquarians love to hear what’s new and exciting—to channel what’s coming into our galaxy. You tend to munch on the same old diet and not test the waters of discovery. This month rework your old standards and see if an exciting thought impression might shake up your world a bit. But this is the time of year for you to stick to what you’ve got. You’ll cover more ground and get more done after February 18th.

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)

Virgo

You twins have got to hear the town crier and heed the Mercury retrograde cycle mid-February. Until then, let your minds have a field day and come up with all the plans fit to explore. You may not fixate any sure deals this planetary cycle, but you definitely have the opportunity to write or to teach or to discover new horizons in the next few months. Since you want to do everything that life offers you, put together a menu of musts and let wait what is not so compelling—discern and discriminate.

CANCER (June 21 – July 22)

Virgo

The New Moon in Capricorn on the 18th of January is the last opposition you will feel for awhile. But it is time to analyze and synthesize your nest and see if you can redo or put it on the market. You Crabs have been delaying and denying the need to change addresses—downsize or expand. There is no better time than the first quarter of the astro-clock to let go of the past and embrace a whole new living experience. Call the broker!

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

Virgo

Attention all actors, perennial kids and risk takers. There is a Full Moon in Leo on February 1st. If you are ever going to play the part life has cast you in, make your move now. For those of you children ruled by the sun, make sure that your risk is one you can afford. If I were a Leo (I have it ascending), I would see how much I could conservatively and safely make on my investments and not throw caution to the wind. Count your blessings instead of your disappointments.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

Virgo

This is the cycle when you can lay down your critical pen and stop trying to make sense of life in your head. Take up yoga and give the hypochondriac in you a needed rest. The only thing that you can do this month is to soothe your head through meditation and reeducation. Repeat after me: “Life is not a math problem. Life is NOT a math problem.” Your better week is February 6 – 13.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

Virgo

Don’t look now, but your capacity to choose a decent relationship is about to pick up speed.  With all the bad choices you’ve made lately in lovers, thank God your time for a good man or woman has come.  Now you can learn to live with a true soul mate rather than all of the leaners, dreamers and schemers from your past.  Stop reviewing the lineup and lollygagging and select who’s behind either door #1, #2, or #3.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

Virgo

Find a safe place and lay low while all that Aquarian energy lashes at your front door.  If I were you, I’d take this astro-cycle to chill and clean out closets, finish your potboiler, or vow to stick to your millionth weight-loss scheme.  It won’t help matters when the Full Moon in Leo squares your best-laid plans.  Learn to love yourself. The upside to what’s in store for you is that Uranus is making a good aspect to your Sun sign for three more years—sudden changes for the better unearths pure gold. When the worm turns your star climbs as high as an elephant’s eye.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)

Virgo

Seems like when the rest of us are emulating Tillie the Toiler you’re singing “Send in the Clowns” as you sit as guest of honor at the head table.  This month is a good time to learn new tricks—go back to school, join a self-help class, or raise your antenna to the sky—you’re channeling a message we all need to hear.  Write a song, a poem, or stand up and shout your new news. The only thing you have to worry about is that all good things come to an end sooner or later. Don’t be caught swinging on a star when Mercury goes retrograde on the 15th of February.

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)

Virgo

Your usual motto “the Big Chill” is about to morph into “Steam Heat.”  Your new open-mindedness is about to hook you up with a person, place or thing that will lead you to a big payoff.  Ain’t it nice to become kinder, softer, gentler and friendlier?  You need to stand up and shout with your brother, Martin, “I’ve got a dream.”  Cautious though you may be, take chances this astro-cycle—all systems are go for the changing line of I-Ching and a menu of opportunities that will let you succeed in business and pleasure.

As Scott Sees It

Patience has been on my mind a lot lately because I have found myself to be a bit impatient the last few days. The old adage says that patience is a virtue. Oftentimes I feel that someone else's pace or way of doing things bumps into the speed and means at which I get things done. Just the other day I felt that someone was rushing me just because he wanted us to get the task done quicker. Rather than blow my top or get resentful at how I felt he was mismanaging the meeting, I asked for a time out. I explained that not all of us can work at his pace. He responded by slowing down and I felt listened to and heard. As he left he commented that he appreciated my speaking up because he had so much to do that day he probably should have suggested we change the time of our get-together. If you are having trouble with your own or someone else's impatience, stop what you are doing and address the issue in a proactive and direct manner. It's the little things that causes our day to get off-track, or worse, explode because we need more time to handle the task at hand.

If you have an idea or a thought you would like to share, send it to us at info@sedonaintensive.com.
