The Signs of the Time–There is a Full Moon on March 20 at 0 degrees of Libra. The Moon is also void of course from 11:22 AM EST until 9:28 PM EST. Although there are a lot of positive aspects that day, the lunation can cause a lot of false optimism. This lunation is like the deal that is too good to be true–because it is not true–it is a deceiver.

Mercury continues retrograde in Pisces until March 29. Again, wait a couple of weeks before you throw your hard-earned money into business opportunities, especially buying a new house or changing jobs.

There is a New Moon at 14 degrees of Aries on April 5.  Good news for Rams as well as other Fire signs, Leo and Sagittarius, and to a lesser degree Air Signs, Aquarius, Gemini and Libra.

There is a Full Moon April 19 at 29 degrees of Libra. Despite the bad press Full Moons get, a Full Moon can give you what you’ve worked hard to accomplish. But the 29th degree of any sign can be foreboding, so wherever you go and whatever you do at this time, be cautious and informed about risks and any retributions.

Fire Signs

ARIES (March 20 – April 19)–Since this is your Solar Cycle of the year, it is time for you to spread your wings. It will be like a Holiday with pay from April 1 until May 15 because your ruling planet Mars will be in Gemini, one of your compatible signs. Jupiter in the Fire Sign Sagittarius will also boost your ratings. This is the time of year when you get up early and go to bed late. It’s your time to twist and shout.

LEO (July 22 – August 22)–As far as the Sun in Aries is concerned this is your month to shine, lions and lionesses.  Venus in Aquarius until March 29 is a different matter. When Venus opposes you it feels as if the world has turned against you. Worst still is Mars in Taurus until March 30. When Mars goes into Gemini on March 31 for the rest of this Solar Cycle you are in high clover. Your chances to run the table this month are a bit dicey. Stick to what you know and what you’ve got.

SAGITTARIUS (November 21 – December 20)–Instead of being a nomad roaming and living by your wits, settle down with the planetary benefits of having your ruling planet, Jupiter in Sagittarius. Jupiter expands and illuminates; it shows the way out of darkness and into the light of higher Consciousness. It is often said (and I sign on to this theory) that Sagittarius is where God lives and takes one where he needs to go if he will only listen and follow the script. This is your year to become more enlightened.

Earth Signs

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)–With Mars in Taurus until March 30 you Bulls will be feeling a lot of internal agitation and irritation around financial matters. No sign is more cautious and less likely to throw away good sense when it comes to your pocket book. When your ruling planet moves into Pisces on March 27 you will begin to feel more comfortable with mind sets and unfounded fears about money matters. Mercury retrograde in Pisces until March 29 will also make you feel that anything mechanical from computers to your car could go on the fritz.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–Since Mercury, your ruling planet, will be in Pisces retrograde for a huge portion of this Solar Cycle, we recommend that you do work and plan and execute nothing that could set you back for months by this phenomenon. Even when Mercury goes direct on March 29, it will still be opposing you. The celestial lesson to be learned from this inconvenience is to learn to be softer, kinder and gentler. Your innate nature is to be exacting and critical and analytical–let go and see what it is like to learn from your opposition.

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn for awhile longer are making you what will fulfill you and bring you peace in your soul. You Goats could be considered the “greatest of all time,” if you will devise and build and rethink and rebuild what will make the world a better place. It would take someone with no moral compass not to know that we are living in perilous times. Change is in the air and Capricorn is the Sign to reconstruct notions that will make the better world happen.

Air Signs

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–With Mercury retrograde in Pisces until March 29 it is suggested that you Twins–both of you–keep your head down through this Solar Cycle. Although Mercury goes direct on March 29, Mercury will continue in Pisces until April 17. However with the Sun in Aries for 30 days, you Geminis will benefit if you are judicious how you do it. Each Solar Cycle, the Sun sets the tone for what can get done, or not. This Cycle is a mixed message for Twins. Move carefully with what you do this month.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–Venus in Aquarius until March 26 can afford a lot of help in getting done what you have labored diligently to do. Jupiter in Sagittarius is your strongest Zodiac ally because its nature compliments yours. Mars will go into Gemini on March 31 and this will provide more opportunities to feel your power and get things accomplished. Everything in astrology is about timing and alignment of planets to create harmony in what one is trying to create.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–Venus will be in Aquarius until March 27–enjoy the ride and the benefits. Jupiter in Sagittarius will also lift your boat and plop it down in a rising tide. But your ruling planet, Uranus has slithered into Taurus, which squares you and oftentimes stops your momentum for getting things done. Your inner strength is always to be found within you, so dig deep and come up with a melody and message that will draw others to you. All is never lost no matter where the planets are. Life is about dealing courageously under all conditions.

Water Signs

CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–As long as you remember that Mercury retrograde affects all Signs you will benefit from a few aspects this Solar Cycle. Venus in Pisces from April 27 to May 20 will lift your spirits and make you feel that there are a lot of advantages this month for you. Mars in Taurus until March 30, although Mars abrades anything and anyone it touches, you may benefit from Mars for those weeks. No Sign perseveres quite like a Cancer.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 20)–When I was in my first rounds of learning astrology the magic of Scorpio revealed itself to me. I know that Scorpio ruler Pluto in Capricorn will always hold the secretive but mystical Scorpions in good stead. Also Mercury in Pisces, although retrograde until March 29, will aid and abet what intuition within this sign needs to move forward. Most of all, Scorpio, trust your own instincts no matter where the planets are. You are the Teachers and Healers. Stay true to you.

PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–Okay, leaners, dreamers and schemers, Mercury is retrograde in Pisces until March 29, so deal with it. Your ruling planet, Neptune is in Pisces for a long time so use the power of the positives of that planet to make life better for you and others. Neptune can cause one to be self-deluded and sometimes obsessive and compulsive. Drinking, drugging, over-spending, rationalizing and justifying are but a few of the killers that can attack Pisces. Be the incredibly gifted soul you were born to be–under all aspects and through all times.

Featured Young Person of the Month:
Road to Rainbow Respect by Ava Rae Milukas

Discrimination of the LGBTQ+ community has existed for many years. Though it has gotten better in the past decade, many “queer” people still feel uncomfortable out in public. The disrespect the community receives is ridiculous, and I want to change that.

I am Ava Rae Milukas, a fellow member of the LGBTQ+ community. I identify as pansexual, which means I would basically date anyone no matter their gender identity. I am twelve years old and live in Tiverton, Rhode Island. One of the things that really bugs me is when people say “Oh, you’re too young to decide your sexual orientation.” I feel that as soon as you are introduced into the LGBTQ+ world and understand it, you should have the freedom to choose who you will love and who you will be. Love can come at any age from anyone.

Many (if not most) LGBTQ+ people discover they are queer when they are younger, around middle school or high school. Unfortunately, there are a lot of homophobic and transphobic families out there, and kids might not be comfortable around their relatives because of that. Though I was lucky enough to have my supportive, loving parents when I came out, I know many kids my age do not. A girl in my school talked to me and told me about how afraid she was to come out to her mother. She thought she would despise her if she found out her daughter wasn’t “straight”. She was so nervous, but I kept telling her she should, and when she finally got confident enough to do it, her mother was in joyful tears. It is so important that every LGBTQ+ person makes that official statement, no matter how you say it. In that girl’s case, she painted rainbows on her face. In my case, I wrote a digital letter.

Though I have not always been queer, I have always respected those in the community and believed that they deserve the same rights and respect as everyone else. I went to my first gay wedding when I was seven years old. Now, I really want to make equality happen. My main goal in life is to change people’s mindsets to spread kindness and improve society. Three LGBTQ+ activists I look up to are Brendon Urie of the band Panic! At The Disco, funk-singer Janelle Monae, and the legend Freddie Mercury from the band Queen. They hold/held so much power and influence and have impacted the lives of people for generations. Music can raise awareness and inspiration on any subject, even with a single lyric. I admire their incredible work and want to continue their amazing legacy through music and writing. I highly recommend you check out all three of these wonderful people.

LGBTQ+ members are all around us, and their population has grown and will continue to grow. Children, teenagers, and adults too are classifying themselves as queer. They could be your classmate, your teacher, your boss, that girl who handed you your Starbucks this morning. They are everywhere and part of the human race, and we must protect their rights. Who you love does not make you any less important or worthy than anyone else. We all deserve the same rights and recognition.

I hope you will join me on the road to rainbow respect.

Birmingham Holocaust Education Center Fund Raiser

Although I am not officially Jewish I am a devotee of the Holocaust Center in Birmingham, Alabama. My dear friend Cathy Ovson Friedman made me aware of BHEC and I decided I wanted to make friends of the Sedona Intensive aware of their unbelievably deep and abiding work for the  Center.

I encourage everyone to support this Center’s efforts to educate everyone about the work being done to make sure that through awareness of the horrors of the Holocaust the world will never have to survive such atrocities again.

The Sedona Intensive is making a donation to BHEC for $1,000.00.  Please join us in making a contribution as well.

Love and Gratitude, Albert Gaulden

More from their website: The Birmingham Holocaust Education Center (BHEC) seeks to educate the people of Alabama about the history of the Holocaust so that new generations will apply the lessons of the Holocaust to the construction of a more just, humane, and tolerant future. By preserving and sharing the stories of local Holocaust survivors and commemorating the events of the Holocaust and the lives of those who perished, the BHEC seeks to promote a moral and ethical response to prejudice, hatred, and indifference for the benefit of all humanity.

NEW BOOK by Albert Clayton Gaulden
Moments and Windstorms: Take Back Your Power

This ground-breaking book offers an in-depth journey through the author’s eye-opening addiction to alcohol and how he eventually got sober. Gaulden has written a number of books as well as being Founding Director of the Sedona Intensive, one of the country’s most highly regarded alternative personal growth programs.

The author shares all the ways God was leading and guiding him even when he was still drinking. “Most of us look at false paradigms to measure success in our lives. So much of where I went and the jobs I took helped me remember what I was to do as my life’s work.”

Gaulden’s book is divided into five parts. Each section explores different parts of his journey, incorporating all the places he’s been, the studies he’s made and the people he’s met. His point of view is that each client who sought his help made him a better person. At the end of the book, he has some daunting but hopeful words about the conditions of the planet Earth and what we need to do to survive as a race.

Couples Who Went to the Extreme to Save Their Marriage
An interview with Carl and Joyce Gioia in RedBook Magazine

When Joyce Gioia couldn’t think of anything else to save her marriage and solve the trust issues that were tearing her and her husband, Carl, apart, she decided to make an investment into what she hoped could be a life-long, loving marriage. They packed their bags and headed to the Sedona Intensive: A $16,000 week-long intensive therapy session that helps people release all self-destructive behaviors.

The purpose of this particular therapy was to help them become stronger individuals, and the counseling was never couple-based. In fact, they only saw each other once per morning at 7 a.m. when they attended a 12-step meeting. The meetings addressed addictions—but it had nothing to do with substance abuse—it was focused on things like work addictions and co-dependence issues.

Between the supervised journaling, visits with renowned mental health professionals, and their genuine will to make things work, Carl and Joyce were able to recover their relationship.

“I believed that the nature and the intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing a resolution in our marriage,” Joyce said. And she was right. By looking at each other as total individuals, they were able to discover what was most important to their spouse and cater to those specific needs. Two years have passed and they’re more in love than ever.

Q & A

RedBook – Explain what the Sedona intensive is.

The Sedona Intensive is a rigorous, weeklong self-exploration. During the week, through concentrated journaling and visits with mental and physical health professionals, we each invested a lot of effort and energy in self-discovery. This self-learning experience is designed and managed by well-respected psychologist Albert Gaulden and includes daily meeting with Albert to monitor progress and ensure results.

RedBook – How did you find out about it?

My brother, who is a nationally acclaimed Emergency Department physician, had gone through this experience with his wife Amber and highly recommended it to us.

RedBook – What did you do at the Sedona intensive?

Every day, we began by attending a 12-Step Meeting with AA. Then, we had a rotating schedule of appointments with a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a yoga instructor, and/or an energy-balancing professional, and of course, Albert. In our “spare” time, we took independent hikes, though the spectacular Sedona canyons.

RedBook – What made you decide to go to this?

We decided to do it, because nothing else seemed to be working to resolve our trust issues. I believed that the nature and intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing resolution of our marriage.

RedBook – How did it change your relationship?

We both worked very hard to discover why we engaged in self-destructive behaviors that stood in the way of our sharing the loving relationship we both thought possible. Two years later, we are more in love than ever before.

RedBook – Would you recommend it to others?

Yes, absolutely, if the two people are prepared to approach the experience with open hearts and minds and they are truly interested in doing the work to strengthen the relationship.

Lindsay, as I said before, “I honestly do not know what else we might have done that would have been so effective in turning the relationship around”.

Joyce Gioia

What Our Clients Are Saying About The Sedona Intensive

“The Sedona Intensive was a life changing experience for me. I had been searching for happiness and serenity for over 20 years and as a result of the Intensive I found that I was looking in all the wrong places. I not only experienced what happiness and serenity truly are but now understand the process needed to maintain and enhance that state of being. It doesn’t mean that I don’t experience the ups and downs of life but what it does mean is that those downs do not even come close to impacting me the way they used to. There is now a presence of mind that provides clarity and purpose that did not exist for me prior to the Intensive.

It is impossible to put a value on such a quality of life enhancing experience that the Sedona Intensive provides the person willing to do the work.It is by far the most significant thing I have done in my 62 years.

I came across a quote last week that summed up what I experienced and learned while attending the Sedona Intensive – ‘Once you stop clinging and let things be, you’ll be free’ -Bodhidharma (440ce – 528 ce), the Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma: A Bilingual Edition.”
