The Signs of the Time–Having adjusted to the emotional rollercoaster of Cancer for the last 30 days, now we are moving into the realm of the grandiosity of His Eminence Leo, king of the jungle and Lord of the Zodiac. Leos can be fun and fanciful but they can also bore you to tears with their need to be the center of everybody’s Universe. (If you have never embraced the revelations of astrology let me give you a tip. Have fun with all of this because this is not the Real World, it is Reform School or the Atmosphere that drew the Fallen Angel to make amends and come into alignment with true identity, Precious Child of God.)
We will all have Mars in the moody-blues sign of Cancer until August 8 and then the world will bow before the majesty of Leo.
There will be an interesting and counterintuitive Full Moon at 7 degrees of Aquarius on July 31. As you know Full Moons indicate endings and new beginnings under the New Moon 14 days later. What is important to remember is that Aquarius opposes Leo. This aspect warns Leo to tone it down a bit. And learn this lesson and tattoo it on your wrist: Your opposite sign has a lot to teach you. Just like your enemy teaches you more than your friend.
May we remind you that if you are playing the blame game –“It’s always their fault, never mine,” stop playing that game now. You are too controlled by the pleasure chest of the Master Ego. The purpose for returning to the Lower World is to change you to change the world you touch. Karma–did you ever dig deep into that realm of everlasting insights?
There is a New Moon at 21 degrees of Leo on August 14. This phenomenon of the New Moon, new beginnings, will be fortuitous for all Fire Signs, Leo, Sagittarius and Aries as well as Air Signs, Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. Mercury goes into the picky perfectionism sign of Virgo on August 8. Mercury is the mind, which is where the Ego lives, so be on guard. Jupiter joins Virgo on August 11. Jupiter multiplies the effects of the sign it is in. So just know Jupiter is in a sign for a year. Here comes Marian the Librarian to try to make us all toe the line and fret when we paint outside the lines. Oy!
Fire Signs
ARIES (March 20 – April 19)–Your mission if you accept it is to consider a game plan that benefits all of us. As someone said in a World-wide Spiritual Conference a few years ago, “It is later than you think, and the countdown has begun.” I took that to mean that we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. And life in the Lower World is about all of us and not just some of us. With explosive and sudden breakthroughs–or breakdowns–with Uranus in Aries a few more years, we’d better watch something other than our financial bottom line. The world is in chaos and it is up to those of us in this country–home to more spiritually alive people than anywhere else in the world–to come together in peace and love for all Mankind.
LEO (July 22 – August 22)–There are rumblings of huge challenges for you lions and lionesses this month. Although the world is waiting for your blessings from the balcony on high, you might want to gird your loins for the double trouble that Mars in Cancer can cause you. You may have been feeling a bit unnerved by the presence of these two dynamos encroaching on your turf of late. We hate to bring this up but Saturn in latter degrees of Scorpio is like a battering ram at the gates of those born between August 15th and the 21st. Not all is lost. As long as you use caution and due diligence it is a good time to invest in your retirement. But don’t forget to give to those who need your help.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–The run-up to Saturn being in Sagittarius for two and a half years beginning September 18 will do you good. Venus in Leo for the whole month will ease your burden, albeit, Venus will be retrograde. Uranus in Aries will offer momentum and a thrill a minute which you crave. The real rub in your month is that Mercury will be in Virgo, in square position to your Sun. You crave freedom and independence, go wherever the heart desires. You might as well be prepared for all that Saturn will throw at you. You have no idea what you will learn about yourself. Practice staying put and get back into prayer, meditation and yoga. As someone once said in a tent meeting in Mississippi, “It’s all good!” (Not.)
Earth Signs
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)–This month the Solar Cycle will be unkind to your usual tendency to cleave to physical security. Your wake-up call is to use your resources to uncover and discover the deeper meaning of life for you in 2015. You will have plenty of help this month with Mercury and Venus in Virgo and Pluto continuing its reign in Capricorn. Virgo will add her flavor of critical evaluation of how you spend money as well as teaching you to be less thin-skinned in personal relationship. It is also a time for prayer and meditation and perhaps to add yoga to your daily routine.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–As we used to say when we were kids in the Deep South, you may feel like you’ve got “ants in your pants” this month because of all the planets in Virgo. Your ruling planet Mercury will go into Virgo on August 8. It seems like a slam dunk but then again you may have a tendency to be bossy and in charge of everybody who comes into your space. Venus went into your sign on July 19 but will go retrograde July 25 and goes back in direct motion on September 6. Pluto in Capricorn, your fellow Earth Sign, will help build you a stronger backbone for upsets and challenges. Remember that old lesson that opposing signs teach you life lessons if you will learn to listen. Neptune in Pisces, opposite your clear and conscious lean-to, will be giving you fits until 2023.
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–You may be getting a new set of blueprints because the Master Designer needs to make some changes to your rehab project. You are not known to be the fastest on your feet or the quickest to make a decision. But when you do, we all could take lessons from your manner of getting things done. You are the least likely to be knocked off your game plan. You futz and you drag behind schedule. When you are through with how everything turned out you are both amazed and amazing. There is a well-known engineering mistake that you would never be guilty of. Remember the unsinkable Titanic or the indestructible Hindenburg that went down in flames? Stick to your guns.
Air Signs
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–With the Full Moon on July 30 at 7 degrees of Aquarius, it may turn out to be the end of sorrow that has been afflicting your life for many months. No sign is more bifurcated and torn in so many different directions as you Twins are. If there were ever a time to turn your will and your life over to the care and protection of a Higher Power, that time is now. The Leo Solar Cycle will be very beneficial to your progress report. Your core issue since you were born has been discernment. No one can get in psychic overload quite like you. The good news is that August is your month to revel in the sunshine of the Spirit. It is your comeback month. Om. Tat. Sat. Om.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–Don’t even venture outside your Safe House without armor and ammunition for your pee-shooter. Mars in Cancer until August 9 will be trying to rattle your cage and make your serenity hall seem like a war zone. Jupiter will bless you until August 11. But your main concerns are Pluto in Capricorn–don’t ask for how long–which seems to want to send you warning signs every day about weaknesses ahead for your Libras. Also Uranus in Aries continued to throw bombs from the bunker. Court is still in session and the Hall of Justice is still your domain.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–With the Full Moon on July 30 at 7 degrees of Aquarius you Water Bearers can begin to rebuild the parts of your life that will be affected by this lunation. You are so used to being free range and independent in your beliefs. Many of us have always thought that no sign dialed into what the Upper World wanted it to do for themselves and all Mankind quite like these Uranus-ruled Aquarians. None of us escapes the need to retool and rethink where we are in our lives. The four leaf clover for these independents is that their planet rule is in Aries in perfect alignment with a steady recovery for Aquarius.
Water Signs
CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–Mars is still in your sign where it will irritate and try to make you crazy until August 9. What the God of us all hopes to teach you is that it is overdue for you to surrender and accept that all of us are doing the best we can with what we’ve got left. The measure of change in you will come when you realize your ruler the Moon changes signs every two and a half days. Here are your “all systems go” days for this Leo Solar Cycle: July 23, 25, August 1, 2 and until 1 PM EDT on 3, 6, 7, August 11, 12, 15, 16 and August 20, 21. And if you will buy an astro-calendar to indicate Void of Course (V/C) Moons you could teach the course to newcomers.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–This month is when life is best for you. Basic astrology tells you that fixed signs are never good for one another. Balderdash. Scorpios work best when the deck is stacked against them. Your intuition is clicking on all cylinders and the output is more spectacular than you have ever experienced. A new friend reappears to take you to greater heights. Check any envy and jealousy at the door. Having survived Saturn in Scorpio for more than two and a half years made you go where God directed you. The results have been amazing. Always remember to do what you love and the money will follow.
PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–Just when you thought you were challenging the last verse to that great song along comes planets in Virgo to make you start from scratch. The heavenly connection that only Pisces has will allow you to rewrite, rethink and reestablish what you have been inspired to do. It is almost like having your masterpiece accidentally erased from your laptop (which happened to me with my first book). Our encouraging word is that roadblocks can only make what you are trying to accomplish better for the extra effort. You Fish are going to have your ruling planet, Neptune, in Pisces for umpteen more years.

The Greatest Night of My Life
The Light Foundation Scholarship Fund threw a fancy dinner to celebrate my 35th AA Anniversary. 70 friends, family and clients gathered in the Monet Ballroom at L’Auberge de Sedona for a delicious dinner and the most scrumptious cake designed by Andrea at Cake Couture. The Dysfunction of the Family Tree: When I work with an alcoholic or drug addict it is obvious to me that everyone hanging from the Family Tree played his or her part in the creation of the lone wolf black sheep. The whole toxic environment which spawned the addict is overlaid with blame and shame. Your Ego Listens When Reason Speaks…And Here’s What Happens
As the myth goes, God created man out of thin air and then Eve popped out of his rib. And just when they were getting to know one another, Eve asked Adam to bite her apple. Then along came the snake. The apple and the snake are a carnival act–they are Frick and Frack in collusion. Make what you will of the yarn, but my Sherlock Holmes intuition tells me to find the truth of the matter in close examination of the apple and the creepy crawler. What Dr. Watson and I came up with was this. The apple of course is temptation. Bite it and you pay a huge price–entrapment. The snake is a doppelganger that represents the Ego, that nefarious shadow- self who always wants us to stay ensnared and beholden to his pleasure chest: food, booze, more, self, manipulation and control. Well, I could go on forever. I could stay with the vivisection of the birth and eons of treachery of the ego from the Garden of Eve to the present. But I won’t. What I will do is to tell you that each of us has an Ego, and although venerated by some like Freud, I feel it has to be dealt with. And the dealing is where I am taking you.
