You are always reading insights about you as well as what’s up with people and causes that we wholeheartedly support. But time to time people ask about who I am and how I feel about a lot of things that they have to deal with in their own lives. We will make changes to the photos and pictures every few months, so you will have bits and pieces about my take on me and what I value or what I know not to be true for me. The Signs of the Time–Holy Moly, do you feel as if Mother Nature righted the listing ship when Mercury went direct on June 12? You can deny everything except the disruptive effects of the messenger, Mercury appearing to go backwards. We’re free of this phenomenon until September 17. Phew.
There is a Full Moon on July 2 at 11 degrees of Sagittarius, which will mess badly with Sagittarius and Gemini. On the other hand a full moon means that the wait is over–or perhaps it is the end of a job, a marriage or whatever has been troubling you. It affects all Air and Fire signs as well.
There is a New Moon on July 16 at 25 degrees of Gemini, which signals new beginnings for Geminis and other Air as well as Fire Signs.
For those of you born between November 15 and the end of the Sun Cycle on November 22, Saturn will retrograde back into Scorpio from June 15 until it enters Sagittarius on September 18. It will transit Sagittarius for two and a half years. If you want to know what to expect, call up a Scorpio friend and they can give you the lowdown on how Saturn, known as the Cosmic Cop, interfered, retooled, slapped them around until they refined the Soul to resemble God’s will for their lives. Since I am the Star Gazer–with interpretations and insights for what is does to each as it transits through a sign–the short answer is that it changes everything in one’s life. Those who refuse to change oftentimes pay with their life.
Each of us has a Higher Self, connected directly to the Creator. Most people deny the still small voice when it speaks because we are too busy feeding from the Pleasure Chest of our Ego. But for those of us who can get on the phone to the God Box, let me share with you some of the things my Higher Self is telling me:
- it’s not so much that the world is going to hell in a hand basket, but we must begin to make different choices that flow to us from the Divine Source. I made a choice more than 35 years ago not to drink and drug. My life is much better because of the choices I made. Now there are more choices I am trying to make–weight loss and cut out sugar–again;
- we become what we watch and how we recreate. If you don’t think that mindless television has a negative impact, be aware that the boob tube supports alcoholism and cigarette smoking. Don’t believe me? Watch any movie or episodic series and they drink constantly and smoke, especially the Brits.
Fire Signs
ARIES (March 20 – April 19)–You may have been told that your sign represents the Warrior, the Fighter. Today you are going to read that this is not only an identity that can keep you stuck in your karmic past but you will encounter problems everywhere you preen. Actually Moses would be a more apropos costume for you to try on because selfless leadership is what the world needs now. With Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in your Sun Sign, you have a lot of cosmic mojo to take us where God would have us go. To become one of many and egoless leadership is what you need to embrace. If you are one of the Millennials the shift in Consciousness will be a piece of cake. Don’t stare too long at the boob tube or believe anything the bifurcated politicians and preachers have to say. A new day is dawning. God’s gonna take His world back.
LEO (July 22 – August 22)–We’d like to remind you that you have until August 11 to bask in all the glory that Jupiter in Leo can bring to you. Venus will be in Leo until July 18. A Trine from Uranus in Aries will feed the Big Spender unless you have learned that it rains on the just and the unjust–no good thing lasts forever. You might want to strategize how to save more than you spend. Having said that, this would be a powerful time to take a vacation that includes what the family wants to do as well as you making all the arrangements. Rumor from the Upper World tells us that you Leos have become kinder, softer and gentler. Just saying.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–There is an old wives tale about Sagittarians that says these Water Bearers will go anywhere anybody else’s charge card will take them. When, truth be told, you are the spiritual acolytes of the Zodiac. And, with Saturn about to move into your sun sign for two and a half years, you are about to go back to school to learn what lies ahead for our universe for the rest of time. Not only will Saturn test you in oftentimes painful ways, but when Jupiter, Sagittarius’s ruling planet, moves into Virgo on August 11th for a whole year, it will be another load of strain and letting go and letting God take you where you need to go.
Earth Signs
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)–We would love to report that all system’s spell “GO” for your this Solar Cycle, but there are more cautions than green lights. You’ll do well with Mars in Cancer–better than the Crabs will because Mars is abrasive and upsetting to watery Cancers. But the blowback for you Bulls will be aiding and abetting the momentum you will need to contend with the other aspects. Jupiter in Leo has been squaring you for most of a year. This aspect may have caused you to be overoptimistic with your finances. Your ruling planet, Venus will be in Leo throughout the Cancer Solar Cycle, definitely a red flag. However, the Sun in Cancer all month will be soothing and calming with all the other hazards in your path.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–Mars will be in Cancer this entire Solar Cycle. So pick up some positive energy from this aspect. Beware of your natural tendency to bitch and bite. The recent retrograde Mercury in Gemini is also doing you no favors. What can work for you, if you have been separating out from the pleasure chest of an out-of-bounds Ego, is the spiritual insights you have been activating during the two and a half years Saturn in Scorpio was having such a powerful psychic on you. Around the middle of June you are going to stir from a long night of insightful dream state and begin to make a shift in consciousness that will serve you for a lifetime. Always remember that we are all at different stages of enlightenment.
CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–Some astro-pundit recently referred to you Goats as ‘Old Ironsides’, a nickname for the USS Constitution because in skirmishes with the enemy, cannonballs bounced of her sides. And with all due respect to all astrological signs, I feel the appellation is so apropos for Capricorn. Pluto, the planet known for destruction and rebuilding–death and rebirth–has been in Capricorn since January 2008. Who will ever forget that signaled what could have been another Great Depression with the economic upheaval that started at the time. This month will be harsh and trying for Capricorns because not only Pluto remains until May 2023, but Uranus in Aries and Mars in Cancer are going to test your durability for the whole Cancer Solar Cycle.
Air Signs
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–The direct motion of your ruling planet Mercury in Gemini until July 9 will aid and abet your carefully-laid plans. You are also having cosmic help from Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries. All of these aspects are going to give you the right pace to settle into a new position at work or a new home, particularly if you are looking for where you need to be. But on September 18 Saturn goes into Sagittarius opposing your sign for two and a half years. We all need Saturn. Saturn will make you work hard for the pay-offs you are looking for. Saturn will stabilize you but it will also make you work harder for the rewards you want. This is the best time to turn your will and your life over to the care of a Higher Power rather than trying to please other people. Om, Tat, Sat, Om.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–With Mars in Cancer for the entire Solar Cycle in Cancer, you might want to have a silent month or work at home alone. Because Cancer and Libra are both Cardinal Signs, you might want to notice the angry ripples covering the world at this time. Cancer likes to control and Libra is a Peacemaker–but not under these aspects. May we remind you that if you want peace, make peace? Choose not to engage in arguments which have no winners. On a more mundane level, consider delaying important decisions. Play like Mercury is still in retrograde after June 12 and do not make important decisions, sign no contracts and keep a low profile.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–We are reminded that the sign which has great disdain for hugging and a whole lot of kissing going on is the Water Bearer, Aquarius. Being a Fixed Air sign, Aquarians like to be able to pay attention to what ideas they are channeling from the Upper World to make the Lower World more palatable and a safe place to live. With your ruler, Uranus continuing to clash and bang its way through Aries there is a greater need for Aquarians to be Guardians at the Gate–making sure that the anthem for Unity and Peace makes its way to all portals, crossing all religious and political borders. Master teacher Ram Dass used to say, “When you get the message, hang up the phone.” Om. Tat. Sat. Om.
Water Signs
CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–You start your Solar Cycle off with a bang and a bit of caution. On June 21 the Moon is in Virgo which blends well with you lunar types. Mercury will be in Cancer from July 9 until July 24. Neptune in Pisces is also inspiring you whilst Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn are giving you trouble from all sides with their square positions. From June 21 until Mercury enters Cancer on July 9 hold your tongue and refuse to argue. From July 9 on until the end of the Cancer Solar Cycle on July 21, choose carefully what and with whom you want to state your case and do not surrender or apologize for anything. Stand your ground. You’ll be in the winner’s circle at last. The big caution is Mars in Cancer throughout this Solar Cycle. This celestial configuration could be tougher than you can handle.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–Start every day with prayer and meditation because after the long run with Saturn in your sign for two and a half years, you are now in a position to lead and not follow; to detach from other people’s game and hidden motives. Dig up the power lines of your sign to receive and send messages of hope and healing to all on your circuitry. And the surge you are feeling to step away from mediocrity and sameness is the planet Mars transiting in the sign of Cancer. You will look back on your life and celebrate this month as the time when you became who God created you to be. Throw away the memory book and photo albums of your past and fill the now vacant spaces with the exciting challenges that are to come.
PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–If you’ve been feeling like everyone you meet continues to look to you to tell them where to go and what to do, hang out a shingle that says, “Gone fishing.” Perhaps it is time to have a silent weekend or go to a concert in the park or sit down and write A Memoir. Being a Pisces myself, and a true sensitive intuit, my head in the clouds part has been alerting me that something big is about to happen for Pisces. If you only knew all the creative sorts who were/are Fish, it would astound you. My sense is that when we unwrap the Gift from God the message will be, “Feed my people.”

The Greatest Night of My Life
The Light Foundation Scholarship Fund threw a fancy dinner to celebrate my 35th AA Anniversary. 70 friends, family and clients gathered in the Monet Ballroom at L’Auberge de Sedona for a delicious dinner and the most scrumptious cake designed by Andrea at Cake Couture. Alcoholism is a Family Disease
The Dysfunction of the Family Tree: When I work with an alcoholic or drug addict it is obvious to me that everyone hanging from the Family Tree played his or her part in the creation of the lone wolf black sheep. The whole toxic environment which spawned the addict is overlaid with blame and shame. Your Ego Listens When Reason Speaks…And Here’s What Happens
As the myth goes, God created man out of thin air and then Eve popped out of his rib. And just when they were getting to know one another, Eve asked Adam to bite her apple. Then along came the snake. The apple and the snake are a carnival act–they are Frick and Frack in collusion. Make what you will of the yarn, but my Sherlock Holmes intuition tells me to find the truth of the matter in close examination of the apple and the creepy crawler. What Dr. Watson and I came up with was this. The apple of course is temptation. Bite it and you pay a huge price–entrapment. The snake is a doppelganger that represents the Ego, that nefarious shadow- self who always wants us to stay ensnared and beholden to his pleasure chest: food, booze, more, self, manipulation and control. Well, I could go on forever. I could stay with the vivisection of the birth and eons of treachery of the ego from the Garden of Eve to the present. But I won’t. What I will do is to tell you that each of us has an Ego, and although venerated by some like Freud, I feel it has to be dealt with. And the dealing is where I am taking you.
