The Signs of the Time–Under the Full Moon at 0 degrees of Virgo on February 19 our feeling of safety is now related to order and clarity, even in emotions. You may feel the need to organize everything chaotic and disorderly. Try being more tolerant and accepting of the imperfections of life. It is better to trust life and let it run its own way. Not everything must be according to our expectations.

Mercury will go retrograde at 29 degrees of Pisces on March 6 and will go direct on March 29 at 16 degrees of Pisces. You know the drill. Under Mercury retrograde don’t sign important documents, and be extra careful when you are making any important decisions. Try to postpone them until Mercury is direct in motion. Generally, anything that can go wrong, will, especially mechanical devises, like computers and internet social services and there could be issues with your car. Exercise caution in all areas of your life.

There is also a New Moon at 15 degrees of Pisces on March 6. Ordinarily this would be smooth sailing for you Fish but that is also the day Mercury goes retrograde.

Day Light Savings time also starts on March 10. Never ignore this reset the clocks time of the year. Many people miss airline flights and are late to important meetings at work because they ignore this phenomenon. Here in Arizona we never observe falling back or moving ahead an hour.

With the exception of Mercury retrograde for three weeks there are no other retrograde planets this Solar Cycle.

Fire Signs

ARIES (March 20 – April 19)–There is a Full Moon on March 20 at 0 degrees of Libra, which opposes early degrees of Aries. Full Moons can indicate that something major is coming to a close. Make sure all of you born between March 20 and April 1 are alert and alive to anything in your life that may need to release. It could be business dealings or personal relationships. Venus in Aquarius until March 28 could benefit you Rams greatly. Everything in life is about choices and the best time to make them. New Moon April 6 at 15 degrees of Aries could be a bonanza.

LEO (July 22 – August 22)–Jupiter in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries until March 6 are your best bets to love life this month. The movement of the Sun determines what lies ahead for you lions and lionesses. This month with the Sun in Pisces, water can put out your fire or at least rain on your parade. This is a super 30 days for you to lay back and try to meditate and keep a journal of not only what you do, but how you are feeling generally about life. Keep your chin up, next month you can twist and boogey all night long.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 20)–You must be feeling giddy and over-the-moon delighted now that your ruling planet Jupiter is back home in Sagittarius. Venus in Aquarius will also stoke the embers of success for you Archers this month. Mercury retrograde in Pisces beginning March 5 will slow down your schedule more than a bit. Mercury retrograde is always a notice for all Signs to mind p’s and q’s but none more than when the retrograde is in a Sign squaring yours.

Earth Signs

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)–You Bulls are being hyper-activated this Solar Cycle with Mars in Taurus. Taurus is steady and cautious where Aries is reactive and risk-taking. Be cautious and especially do not get into arguments where you have to defend your position. Your ruling planet Venus in Aquarius until March 28 does not aid and abet you, but it does on March 29 when Venus moves into Pisces. Uranus in early degrees of Taurus this Solar Cycle will cause you peace-loving types to adjust to the momentum that does not suit you.

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)–There is a situation related to work that has never been resolved. You may have been waiting to hear about a promotion or there is a new opportunity on the horizon. You Virgos are known to fret but this is a worthwhile chance to make a jump up the corporate ladder. Another thing that shows for you this Solar Cycle is the renewal of an old friendship that you thought was over and gone. That is quite the contrary. What comes next is a deeper and more enduring connection that will change your life for the better.

CAPRICORN (December 21 – January 19)–Nothing matches the industry and hard work of a Goat. This month Saturn and Pluto are in alignment to keep your nose to the grindstone. This Solar Cycle in Pisces blesses you greatly with imagination and insights into what comes next for you. Although Mercury is retrograde which is a caution for all signs, when it goes direct on March 28 for over a month Mercury in Pisces will overlay you with fortune and a path to greatness. Mars in Taurus is also a benefit in the Sign of Taurus.

Air Signs

GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)–Your ruling planet Mercury in Pisces will not thrill you Twins. Mercury does go retrograde on March 6 so you’ll join the whole Zodiac in attentiveness to anything mechanical that can and most likely will go awry. Venus in Aquarius until March 26 will comfort you and make you feel that most of your ideas are brilliant ones. All in all this is a good time to keep a low profile and tend only to what needs to be taken care of. I never saw a Gemini in my life who could not make something doable out of difficulty.

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)–Your love life takes a big step forward around March 2 when your ruling planet Venus moves into the compatible Sign of Aquarius. There are so many other aspects that are continuing to be challenging and irritating to you. Make sure you are not paying too big a price to maintain a marriage or business relationship that has died awhile ago. You love peace and harmony and if that’s not what you’re getting, cut ties and move on. Nothing is worth the angst and agony of irreconcilable differences.

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 17)–Venus in Aquarius is a big leg-up for you Water Bearers this Solar Cycle. Your ruling planet Uranus is about to move into Taurus for a number of years so you will have a lot of opportunities to change and grow in new ways as well as directions. The nature of Uranus is sudden and oftentimes upsetting in the ways in which newness comes into your life. Get ready to say yes to new thinking and living. Also position yourself for surprises, some inviting and others more difficult.

Water Signs

CANCER (June 21 – July 21)–Last month we advised Cancers about the days of the month that were more advantageous to them and many applauded. We are repeating this month because the New and Full Moon do not hug you Crabs like they do some of the other Signs. For this Solar Cycle these are your positive days: February 19, 20; February 23, 24; March 5, 6; March 10, 11; afternoon March 14, 15; early evening March 18 and 19. What always holds Cancer in good stead is to be loving and kind through all lunations no matter what sign, but a lot less controlling.

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)–Your heels will be clicking like Dorothy on the way to Oz under the New Moon on March 6 at 15 degrees of Pisces. The warning this Solar Cycle is Mars in Taurus opposing you. Mars can be abrasive. When it opposes you could go through a run of emotional topsy turvy. You’ve still got help from Neptune trining you from Pisces. And Pluto and Saturn hold you in good stead from the Sign of Capricorn. Mercury retrograde could slow down your fast-paced life from March 6 to March 28.

PISCES (February 18 – March 19)–This is going to be an iffy Solar Cycle. Be cautious and step easily under the Mercury retrograde time from March 6 on. The New Moon will lift your spirits. Neptune in Pisces will also be a double-edged sword. Neptune can cause one to drink or overuse drugs or generally live on the edge. Pay close attention and watch for emotional potholes and surprises from left field that can upset your proverbial apple cart. Always check in with your heart and not busy-bee brains.

Birmingham Holocaust Education Center Fund Raiser

Although I am not officially Jewish I am a devotee of the Holocaust Center in Birmingham, Alabama. My dear friend Cathy Ovson Friedman made me aware of BHEC and I decided I wanted to make friends of the Sedona Intensive aware of their unbelievably deep and abiding work for the  Center.

I encourage everyone to support this Center’s efforts to educate everyone about the work being done to make sure that through awareness of the horrors of the Holocaust the world will never have to survive such atrocities again.

The Sedona Intensive is making a donation to BHEC for $1,000.00.  Please join us in making a contribution as well.

Love and Gratitude, Albert Gaulden

More from their website: The Birmingham Holocaust Education Center (BHEC) seeks to educate the people of Alabama about the history of the Holocaust so that new generations will apply the lessons of the Holocaust to the construction of a more just, humane, and tolerant future. By preserving and sharing the stories of local Holocaust survivors and commemorating the events of the Holocaust and the lives of those who perished, the BHEC seeks to promote a moral and ethical response to prejudice, hatred, and indifference for the benefit of all humanity.

NEW BOOK by Albert Clayton Gaulden
Moments and Windstorms: Take Back Your Power

This ground-breaking book offers an in-depth journey through the author’s eye-opening addiction to alcohol and how he eventually got sober. Gaulden has written a number of books as well as being Founding Director of the Sedona Intensive, one of the country’s most highly regarded alternative personal growth programs.

The author shares all the ways God was leading and guiding him even when he was still drinking. “Most of us look at false paradigms to measure success in our lives. So much of where I went and the jobs I took helped me remember what I was to do as my life’s work.”

Gaulden’s book is divided into five parts. Each section explores different parts of his journey, incorporating all the places he’s been, the studies he’s made and the people he’s met. His point of view is that each client who sought his help made him a better person. At the end of the book, he has some daunting but hopeful words about the conditions of the planet Earth and what we need to do to survive as a race.

Couples Who Went to the Extreme to Save Their Marriage
An interview with Carl and Joyce Gioia in RedBook Magazine

When Joyce Gioia couldn’t think of anything else to save her marriage and solve the trust issues that were tearing her and her husband, Carl, apart, she decided to make an investment into what she hoped could be a life-long, loving marriage. They packed their bags and headed to the Sedona Intensive: A $16,000 week-long intensive therapy session that helps people release all self-destructive behaviors.

The purpose of this particular therapy was to help them become stronger individuals, and the counseling was never couple-based. In fact, they only saw each other once per morning at 7 a.m. when they attended a 12-step meeting. The meetings addressed addictions—but it had nothing to do with substance abuse—it was focused on things like work addictions and co-dependence issues.

Between the supervised journaling, visits with renowned mental health professionals, and their genuine will to make things work, Carl and Joyce were able to recover their relationship.

“I believed that the nature and the intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing a resolution in our marriage,” Joyce said. And she was right. By looking at each other as total individuals, they were able to discover what was most important to their spouse and cater to those specific needs. Two years have passed and they’re more in love than ever.

Q & A

RedBook – Explain what the Sedona intensive is.

The Sedona Intensive is a rigorous, weeklong self-exploration. During the week, through concentrated journaling and visits with mental and physical health professionals, we each invested a lot of effort and energy in self-discovery. This self-learning experience is designed and managed by well-respected psychologist Albert Gaulden and includes daily meeting with Albert to monitor progress and ensure results.

RedBook – How did you find out about it?

My brother, who is a nationally acclaimed Emergency Department physician, had gone through this experience with his wife Amber and highly recommended it to us.

RedBook – What did you do at the Sedona intensive?

Every day, we began by attending a 12-Step Meeting with AA. Then, we had a rotating schedule of appointments with a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a yoga instructor, and/or an energy-balancing professional, and of course, Albert. In our “spare” time, we took independent hikes, though the spectacular Sedona canyons.

RedBook – What made you decide to go to this?

We decided to do it, because nothing else seemed to be working to resolve our trust issues. I believed that the nature and intensity of this self-learning experience would help us move beyond the impasse that was preventing resolution of our marriage.

RedBook – How did it change your relationship?

We both worked very hard to discover why we engaged in self-destructive behaviors that stood in the way of our sharing the loving relationship we both thought possible. Two years later, we are more in love than ever before.

RedBook – Would you recommend it to others?

Yes, absolutely, if the two people are prepared to approach the experience with open hearts and minds and they are truly interested in doing the work to strengthen the relationship.

Lindsay, as I said before, “I honestly do not know what else we might have done that would have been so effective in turning the relationship around”.

Joyce Gioia

What Our Clients Are Saying About The Sedona Intensive

“The Sedona Intensive was a life changing experience for me. I had been searching for happiness and serenity for over 20 years and as a result of the Intensive I found that I was looking in all the wrong places. I not only experienced what happiness and serenity truly are but now understand the process needed to maintain and enhance that state of being. It doesn’t mean that I don’t experience the ups and downs of life but what it does mean is that those downs do not even come close to impacting me the way they used to. There is now a presence of mind that provides clarity and purpose that did not exist for me prior to the Intensive.

It is impossible to put a value on such a quality of life enhancing experience that the Sedona Intensive provides the person willing to do the work.It is by far the most significant thing I have done in my 62 years.

I came across a quote last week that summed up what I experienced and learned while attending the Sedona Intensive – ‘Once you stop clinging and let things be, you’ll be free’ -Bodhidharma (440ce – 528 ce), the Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma: A Bilingual Edition.”
